In May this year, The Very Best In Stand Up moved from it's old home at Crewe's M Club to Nantwich's Civic Hall, bringing with it top acts from the National and International comedy circuit.

The first show of the new season features one of the top compere's on the circuit, Patrick Monahan. Patrick is celebrating a decade in stand up this year and it's one that's managed to live up to the lofty expectations that winning ITV's stand up competition "Take The Mic" would come with. Now a opening for many TV shows including "Friday Night with Jonathan Ross" and "The IT Crowd", Patrick has also appeared on "The Paul O'Grady Show".
Gary Delaney is one of the finest one liner comics in the country. Once referred to by the BBC as "the man Jimmy Carr wants to be", you'd be hard pushed to find many comedians with a higher gag rate. By the time Gary comes to us, He will have completed an Edinburgh Fringe Festival run with his show "Purist", his first at the leading comedy celebration. Gary has written for "8 out of Ten Cats", "Russell Howards' Good News" and is also a two time Sony radio award winner.
Also taking to the stage will be Smug Roberts. Smug has been one of the veterans from the Manchester comedy scene for 15 years now and is recognisable from Peter Kay's TV shows including "Phoenix Nights" and "Britain's got the pop factor". His acting talents have also seen him in films such as "24 hour party people" and "Looking For Eric". Smug was the very first act on at Manchesters "Comedy Store" in 2000, appearing along with Paul Merton, Julian Clary and "Cold Feet" star, John Thompson, another show which Smug appeared in.
Canadian comic Jason John Whitehead has been performing his brand of Stand Up Comedy all over the world for 10 years now. He is a regular at International Comedy Festivals in Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, UK, Holland aswell as his home country of Canada. A regular headliner on the British and International circuit, Jason has headlined prestigious clubs and is also a veteran of many TV appearances all over the world.
The show takes place on Friday 3rd September 2010 and tickets on sale now, priced £9 - get them from the tickets page or the link opposite. Table reservations are open with limited availability and will be closed off one week before the show regardless of availability. Reserved tables must be claimed by 7.45pm or they may be withdrawn where demand deems appropriate.
Doors will open at 7.15pm with the show commencing at 8.15pm. No under 16’s will be admitted and all persons under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
